Keep Your Eyes on the Prize is a Black History Month preaching series that invites us to stay focused on Jesus in the face of distraction, discouragement, and cultural pressure. Drawing from Scripture as our foundation and guided by the prophetic wisdom of Howard Thurman, we will explore how the life of Jesus speaks powerfully to those who have lived under fear, exclusion, and injustice—and what that means for us today. This series calls us to remember where we come from so we can move faithfully toward where God is leading us. As we honor the witness of Black faith and resilience, we will rediscover a hope rooted in Christ’s death and resurrection and learn what it means to persevere with courage, clarity, and love.

NewCity Church exists to build an authentic faith community in Newton, MA that is committed to sharing life with one another and pursuing a personal and transformative relationship with God that contagiously ripples through the community.
